It's the big one on Merseyside as Liverpool take on old foes Everton
Rafael Benitez takes his side into the latest big game, as Liverpool battle to reach the semi-final of the Champions League, and to finish in the coveted fourth place in the Premier League.
Liverpool vs Everton is always one of the big games on the Premier League calender, but this year it has extra special spice, as the Merseyside rivals are battling it out for fourth place, and a place in the Champions League.
Liverpool go into the game against Everton looking to consolidate their position, sitting on 59 points, two ahead of rivals Everton. Everton meanwhile, know this is a must win, or more to the point, must not lose game for them. Allowing Liverpool to go five points ahead, with six games to go will be a hammer blow for Everton.
Latest team news is that Liverpool are without Javier Mascherano, who is suspended after last weekends rumpus at Manchester United. The young brazilian Lucas is expected to deputise. However Fernando Torres has announced himself fit to face Everton, and Rafa Benitez will be hoping Liverpool's star man gets more protection against Everton, than last week at Old Trafford. Also Riise and Benayoun are pushing for a starting role, while Finnan is close to a return to fitness.
Everton's main doubt is Andy Johnson, but Pienaar and Anichebe should be fit to play.
Both teams are in great form, and the lost of Mascherano is a big blow to Liverpool, however Footy Focus thinks Liverpool will have just too much for Everton and sneak a vital Derby win!
