Liverpool 0-1 Manchester United, Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea

So the Super Sunday Grand Slam (or whatever Sky called it) is over and its certainly pushed the Premier League title race towards a two horse race for the second half of the season.

Manchester United won at Liverpool in a scrappy game of few chances that they largely controlled. Liverpool huffed and puffed but you always had the feeling United were in control and could sneak a goal out of nothing. Liverpool had a few chances but gave the ball away too cheaply and suffered from a lack of inventiveness. Harry Kewell was off the pace and they are still clearly missing Alonso. Kuyt looked slower than he normally is (if thats possible) while Torres was well shackled by the excellent Vidic and Ferndinand.

Arsenal climbed back to the top of the Premier League beating Chelsea 1-0 at the Emirates. They were a touch fortunate though as Chelsea missed a host of clear chances with Sean Wright-Phillips guilty of the worst, screwing wide when it seemed easier to hit the target. Adebayor thought he'd got a second but it was disallowed for foul before he hit home.

Overall a great weekend for Wenger and Ferguson with Liverpool looking dead and buried in the race for the Premier League. As for Chelsea its a set-back but I wouldnt write them off just yet. They're closer than Liverpool and I just think they have that little but more resilience than the Reds.
